Watch this video to learn about Cricket Rules and Regulations. Cricket originated sometime in the 1500s in England. There are, though, evidence that shows that a similar game might have been played in the area as early as the thirteenth century.
The game is played with two teams which consist of eleven players each. Of the different kinds of games, the one day internationals (ODI) are most popular. In an ODI, each team gets 50 overs (consist of 6 balls each) to make as many runs as they can. The team which makes the most runs wins.
Depending on which team wins the toss, they can choose to either bat first, or bowl and field first. The team that chooses to bat has 2 players standing on either side of a ‘pitch’. Bowlers ball in overs and try to get the batsmen out by either hitting the stumps behind the batsmen, or with the help of his teammates who are ‘fielding’.
Watch the video! It’s a fun game to play even if you don’t have can’t round up 22 people! And it’s not complicated at all! No wonder it’s the second most popular game in the world!
