How the Large Hadron Collider Works

Watch this spectacular and educational video and learn how the components of the LHC work to accelerate hydrogen nuclei to 99.9% of the speed of light. The LHC comprises if 4 different stages of acceleration, the largest has a circumference of 27KM where the beams circulate 11 thousand times/sec. The beams are finally brought together, forming a collision of 14TEV where the collision is analysed by the ATLAS and CMS detectors.
