The Beautiful World of Ballet

The words Ballare (Latin), Ballo (Italian), and Ballet all mean dance, or to dance. This style of dance was popular as a performance art in the 16th and 17th centuries in France and was usually performed for French royalty.
Today, the ballet has evolved and moved into many different countries — each lending to the original dance, its own style.
Ballets are performed to orchestras and classical music with ballet dancers acting out scenes from plays and dramas. It is an extremely difficult dance and requires years of training and hardwork.
