Who was Siddhartha Buddha?

Posted on 23. Dec, 2009 by Dee in Culture

Young Siddhartha was a prince, in modern day Nepal which was then a part of India. His father, the king wished great things for him. He was to become a great conqueror and the next ruler.
As much as Siddhartha’s father tried to shield him from the real world, four things that the young prince saw urged him to become a hermit – suffering, sickness, death and the life of an ascetic, free from material pleasures.
He then went on to attain enlightenment and his philosophies are now followed by 350 million people around the world.

This video explains Buddhism and how it is more a way of life than a religion.
